Privacy Policy

FuelGauge is a browser extension that tracks your Claude subscription usage. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it's stored, and what happens with it.

The short version: Your usage data stays on your machine. We don't run analytics on the extension. We don't sell data. We don't have a server collecting your browsing activity.

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Thomas SIHAPANYA is the data controller for any personal data processed through FuelGauge and the fuelgauge.pro website.

What FuelGauge Does NOT Do

Does not collect or transmit personal information (name, email, IP)
Does not track your browsing activity outside of claude.ai
Does not run analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking on the extension itself
Does not inject ads or affiliate links
Does not share data with third parties
Does not store your Claude session cookie — it's read at request time and never persisted

Cloud Sync (Pro Feature, Opt-In)

Pro users can enable Cloud Sync to backup their usage history and access it across browsers. This is entirely opt-in — it is never activated automatically.

When Cloud Sync is enabled:

Your usage history (percentages, timestamps, settings) is encrypted and sent to Supabase (our sync infrastructure)
Data is associated with your license key — not your name or email
You can disable Cloud Sync at any time, which stops all data transmission
You can request deletion of all synced data by contacting us

When Cloud Sync is disabled (default): zero data leaves your browser.

No data processor receives your Claude session cookie, browsing history, or AI conversation content.

Push Notifications (Pro Feature, Opt-In)

If you enable ntfy push notifications, FuelGauge sends alert messages to the ntfy server you configure. The only data transmitted is the alert text (e.g., "Usage at 15% — slow down"). No personal data, no browsing history, no session tokens are included in notifications.

You choose the ntfy server (default: ntfy.sh, a public service). FuelGauge has no relationship with ntfy.sh and does not control their privacy practices.

Permissions Explained

Data Retention

Local data: Kept for 30 days (rolling window), then automatically purged by the extension. Uninstalling the extension deletes all local data.
Cloud Sync data (Pro): Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
We retain nothing else. There is no server-side logging of your usage, no database of users, no CRM.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Since the Free plan stores everything locally and we have no server-side user database, there is effectively no personal data to request. You control it entirely — clear chrome.storage or uninstall the extension.

For Pro users with Cloud Sync enabled, you have the right to:

Access your synced data
Rectification — correct inaccurate data
Delete all synced data (right to erasure)
Portability — export your data (CSV export)
Object — opt out of Cloud Sync at any time
Restrict processing — disable sync while keeping your account

If you believe your data protection rights have not been respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés) — www.cnil.fr.

Children

FuelGauge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify Pro users via the extension (if Cloud Sync is enabled). Free users should check this page periodically.
